Classmates, I posted a picture of my brother Jimmy (in a photo with a photo of my mom and her first husband, Jimmy's father) from graduation at San Ramon High School class of 1966. Many of you who knew me at Los Cerros Junior High School remember April 1968 when someone came to our class to take me home as my dear brother was killed in action in the Vietnam War. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. I have also posted a picture of me and my wife of 28 years, Alida.

I went into the Navy in 1973, almost a year after high school graduation. I stayed in the Navy for 24 years and completed my career as a commissioned officer. Shortly after joining, I connected with Cliff Nivling at the naval base in Great Lakes, IL as he also joined the Navy. Following the Navy I was implementing electronic medical records, managed federal contracts in Human Resources management at the Vice President level and was the President of my company prior to retiring in 2019. As of June 2023, building a home in The Villages, FL retirement community. Our home will be done in October 2023 and we will move 3 hours north (an hour from Disney World). Would love to hear from any of you at tonycardinale2010@gmail.com or call me at 703 887-7984

School Story

My favorite school story is attending several classes with history teacher, football coach, and wrestling coach Steve Marshal. He was the most exceptional teacher I ever had. I know some of you were in his classes. He made U. S. and Latin American History fun. He was an inspiration to all of us. During our junior or senior year, Mr. Marshal contracted some sort of disease and it nearly completely paralyzed him. He was so tough, he would run on the football field with his walking canes. I learned last year that he passed away a few years ago. He was one of a kind and I learned so much from him.

So sorry to hear about Rich McCulloch's passing 7 years ago.  Rich was a very funny guy and fun to be around.  I first met him at Green Valley Elementary school (in the early 1960's I think) but if not, I am certain we were in 7th and 8th grade together at Los Cerros junior high school and then 4 years together at Monte Vista.  He was a guy who loved to tease people, me included but I enjoyed his antics.

My sincerest condolences to Riich's famiy.  Rest in peace my friend and may perpetual light shine upon you.

Sincerely,

Anthony Cardinale

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as I can at the reunion next year. The attached photo is my wife Alida and I in April 2022 on a cruise ship and the other photo is my Montevista Class of 1972 yearbook picture. As you can see, I have not changed a bit :-)

I am so sorry to learn of Chris' death while viewing the Monte Vista Reunion web site.  Chris was a very good friend of mine and lived near me in Danville, Ca.  He and his dad used to restore old Volkswagon beetles and sell them.  My very first car in 1970 was a 1958 Volkswagon beetle that my dad bought for me for $700 from Chris and his dad.

My sincerest condolences to the Russell family.

Sincerely,

Anthony Cardinale
