Lorna Galvin - Class Of 1973

I wanted to let you know that Lorna J. Galvin, one of my dear friends in high school passed away in 2001 of cancer.

Following is her obituary:

Lorna Galvin Lorna Jean Galvin, 45, died at her residence on the Lake Almanor Peninsula on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. She was an avid traveler who began residing on the Lake Almanor Peninsula this past year. She was born June 16, 1955, in Walnut Creek,  Calif. She was a 1978 graduate of UC-Davis with a degree in renewable natural resources, she was a talented artist who painted with water and oil. She enjoyed doing stitchery and quilting and had recently taken up pottery. She is survived by husband, Ted, of the Lake Almanor Peninsula; mother, Marjory Galvin, of the Lake Almanor Peninsula; brothers, James, of Emeryville,  Calif., George, of Concord,  Calif., and John, of Upper Pradish, India; and one niece. Following cremation at Fehrman Crematory in Quincy, a private celebration of her life was held. The family requests any donations in her memory be made to either the World Wildlife Fund or Planned Parenthood c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory P.O. Box 803 Greenville,  Calif. 95947.
